If they are right, and if you know my story, you have reason to know that I am not all that trusting of doctors, it makes sense. I ended up staying in the hospital for 2 extra days because of a low grade fever they never explained and I have had fever and chills off and on since my mastectomy. I also had a lot of pain in my hips that they couldn't explain. I have had this outbreak on my arm several times now. I am not through with this. From what I read there is a blood test they can do and I am going to request it. In the meantime I will take my Bactrim and wait for it to get better. what got me is the doctor trying to say this was probably a community associated infection rather one I contracted in the hospital. I have been in and out of hospitals and doctors offices for a year and a half now. And good old medicaid has decided that I have no more doctors visits until July. I am so frustrated with the system.

Jan. 26- mammogram and ultrasound- suspicious lump
Mid-February- lumpectomy, infiltrating ductal carcinoma ~4.5 cm and a 1 cm DCIS, did not get clear margins, did not check lymph nodes
ER+/PR+, her2 +++, nuclear grade 3 of 3
February 20-PET scan showed something on liver. No biopsy.
March- Started carboplatin, herceptin, taxol on a four week cycle
May 3- Pet scan, with intent to do a biopsy, found nothing, liver or breast- no biopsy because there is nothing to biopsy
June 21- new onc, very concerned that there had been no biopsy,
June 18th-CAT scan, bone scan-negative
August 7th - Brain MRI-negative
August 9th- mastectomy, all pathology negative
January 2008 still NED! New oncologist -herceptin for full year after chemo- until July, and tamoxifen---negative scans since May '07
July 2008-Finished Herceptin!
