Just make sure you get your rest and use the cream they told you to use. My mom also had radiation and she used Fruit of the Earth 100% Aloe Vera gel instead of the Biofine cream I was told to use. They usually tell the women who had chemo to use a heavier duty cream than the women who only get radiation (my mother only had a lumpectomy with radiation). However, I really started to burn and get sore and the aloe vera gel brand above worked wonders. I put it on and let it completely dry. If you do start to burn, ask your rad onc for Silvadene cream - it is great for that (prescription).
You will be done in mid April. When I had rads, I was done April 8 and went to Pittsburgh Chemical day the beginning of May. It was a business trip and I had to fly. It was my first out of town flight trip and it went fine. I just made sure I didn't overdo and I was nervous to be away from home (even though normally before and now, I am a road warrior). You will be fine by then. It is amazing how quickly the skin heals up (think about any bad sunburn you might have had in your life. Its painful but only for a few days and then you're better). Once rads are over, you just heal up well within a week so by May - you'll be good to go.
Baby yourself alittle longer and then this will be over and Herceptin alone is just fine. Make sure to plan traveling around Herceptin. You can be a couple of days late and still be ok but its always best to be on time unless your onc delays you for a good reason.
I hope this helped.
