Joanne, First of all I am SO SORRY no one acknowledged the importance of your scan results. NED is BIG NEWS...I'm not sure what planet "our" families are from at times? lol I experienced that when I completed herceptin, and then again recently when it was my two yr canceversary. Not one peep out of anyone...just no big deal. It was JUST another day. I have a really good idea how you are feeling. They just don't get *it*!  They seem to think its all over now so you just need to forget about it and move on. (Don't we wish.)
That being said...I get *it* and this entire board gets *it*. Let me say BIG CONGRATULATION'S to you on completing your herceptin and your NED status!  You have been through SO MUCH and its time you do something really special for yourself. Even if you family doesn't understand...make sure you celebrate and go buy yourself something you've been wanting. You deserve it. Its been no picnic to get where your at, and I say "WAY TO GO GIRL"! Here's to another 40 plus years with NED by your side. Again...congratulations. Whooo Hoooo!

9-21-09 PET/CT "Recurrence" to Rt. axllia, Rt. femur, ilium. Possible Sacrum & liver? Now stage IV.
9-28-09 Loading dose of Herceptin & started Zometa
9-29-09 Power Port Placement
10-24-09 Mass 6.4 x 4.7 cm on Rt. femur head.
11-19-09 RT. Femur surgery - Rod placed
12-7-09 Navelbine added to Herceptin/Zometa.
3-23-10 Ten days of rads to RT femur. Completed.
4-05-10 Quit Navelbine--Herceptin/Zometa alone.
5-4-10 Appt. with Dr. Slamon to see what is next? Waiting on FISH results from femur biopsy.
Results to FISH was unsuccessful--this happens less then 2% of the time.
7-7-10 Recurrence to RT axilla again. Back to UCLA for options.
