My Mother
Dear All,
My mother has been battling cancer for the past 4 years, 3 of which have been metastatic. About 16 months ago her cancer had spread to the brain, following which she has gone through may regimes namely:
1) WBR
2) Temodar + Herceptin
3) Gemzar +Herceptin
4) Xeloda + Tykerb
Her most recent scan taken today shows widespread lesions, in clusters and large single lesions in the brain. There are no more options left. Prior to the brain metastasis she had tried may chemos to rid her of her metastasis to the liver. At the top of my head they are:
1) Navelbine + Herceptin
2) Taxol + Herceptin
etc
Drs have told us there are no options left and with all my research I almost agree. if anyone has tried anything whether conventional (not on the lists above) or unconventional, please please respond. Our Onc will ask our radiologist tomorrow whether another WBR procedure is possible. I fear on just the sound of that. I have never heard anyone go through 2 WBRs. Gama and Cyber options are out due to the number and size of lesions.
Please help.
