Hi Jean,

I thought you might not know about the Canadian study because of your quote from the Mayo Clinic.

I agree, Jackie, it was ground flaxseed (brown) that was used in the muffins. And for my taste buds much more tolerable than the oil, which I find impossible to take no matter how I try to disguise its taste. I posted a recipe a while ago for pumpkin flaxseed muffins if anyone is interested.

Jean, sorry, I don't know the answer to your question although I recall reading something on this subject not long ago. It may have been on this site. I did speak to my oncologist about ground flaxseed and the Canadian study, and he raised a similar concern about flaxseed increasing estrogen levels, but since my BC was estrogen negative I didn't follow through with questions. Also, he doesn't believe in taking any supplements or vitamins, which I think is somewhat shortsighted.
