Ten years after breast-conserving therapy, the breast cancerrecurrence rates are higher among African American women than amongCaucasian women, researchers reported here at the annual meeting ofthe American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology(ASTRO). However, the difference is not great, so breast-conservingtherapy should remain an option for African American women.
