Hi Kriss,
I strongly recommend seeing a naturopath. Mine is helping me with all my issues: not wanting bc to rear it's ugly head ever again, fatigue, insomnia, bone health, minor joint issues, general nutrition. Your mileage may vary, and it is an evolving process, but my plan (I am strongly triple +) for now is:
Insomnia
melatonin 20 mg at bed time
benadryl 50 mg at bed time
GABA 500 mg at bed time
General good health
probiotics- Healthforce nutrional's VitaMineral Green (tastes about as good as it sounds, but full of good stuff)
fish oil, flaxseed oil, Condroitin MSM, folic acid, grape seed extract, curcumin, green tea extract, selenium, multi-vitamin, 1 oz. dark chocoalte, fiber tabs, ground flaxseed, concentrated pomegranate juice. I go back and forth on the flaxseed (er+) according to what I read, decided it does more good than harm.
Bones
1,500 mg calcium citrate
get lots of sun (2 hours per day April thru October, also got the Fosamax plus vit D prescription
Stay away from as much as possible
white flour, white rice, pork, beef, non-organic dairy and produce, soy, regular alcohol, non-wild salmon/fish, artificial sweeteners, soda, partially hydrogenated oils, refined sugars especially high fructose corn syrup, artifical colors, preservatives
Eat a lot of
whole foods: produce, unroasted nuts (4 brazil nuts a day- yummy, but a wad of fat

) wild salmon and fish, chicken breasts, brown rice, whole wheat bread, olive oil only to cook. Limit sweets to once in awhile. Losing my sweet tooth this way! I am trying unsweetend rice milk to replace cow's milk and it is ok.
It took me several months to wean off my old diet (which wasn't horrible) and add the new supplements. But I must say I have been feeling great- little menopausal effects and minimal fatigue and joint pain. My poor feet ache sometimes- take a little naprosyn.
