My grandfathers favorite song to sing to my mom & aunts was "You Are My Sunshine"...(My Only Sunshine..You Make Me Happy When Skies Are Blue...). Very very old song that is rarely heard. He would sing that song all the time and still does even though he has been passed away since 1968. Whenever we need my Grandpa he comes to let us know everything is alright. We hear the song in the wierdest situations and at the strangest times. My brother and my high school & college graduations, my wedding day, my mom's birthday (Halloween=only day of the year I can call her a witch and get away with it=LOL), whenever I am lonely or scared or sad or upset he comes. The week of my husband's diagnosis Grandpa came to visit, hearing that song let me know that he was comforting me, that he was somehow sending me the sign that he was here with us, he understood and that somehow everything would be okay. So far Grandpa has only come when I ask for a sign if the outcome is good. Maybe my husband will get some time out of this; 'cause Grandpa said and maybe he has connections...LOL

Now whenever I hear it I always say, "Hello My Dearest Grandpa, thank you for comforting me, for sending the signs I so desperately need!!" This year for my birthday I did not want a thing, I mean what more could I ask for since I had my husband still here with me?? All I said was "To make this day complete, I need my grandpa to visit". An hour later....he did!!

The day I took my husband home from the hospital after diagnosis I heard a different song that was a sign I asked for from God. This is a song I relate directly to my husband's illness. I will not get into that long story 'cause you know I can get-a-talking..whew, but that song is heard whenever I need a sign from God concerning my husband's illness. (imagine that, he had not been to the hospital since he was a wee kid!!)

These two songs have special meanings for me and are heard whenever I need a sign or some inspiration, sometimes I do not even know that I need the sign. What comfort I gather when I hear them, they represent to me that God is at work!! He has his messengers and boy are they busy!!!

Coincidence??? I THINK NOT!!

I too love this post and will save the other song for another time.
