My neuropathy started with taxol/herceptin combo. My onc first told me that it should disappear once I was off of taxol, but it continued (to this day). Now my onc said it will probably be here to stay. I have numbness in my toes and the bottom of my feet right below the toes. I also get the shooting pains in my toes. She prescribed something that would help with the neuropathy at night and also help me to sleep and ease the hot flashes. I haven't taken it yet because it is a mild anti-depressant (I am not depressed).
I've heard so many negative things about antidepressant use (in the news etc) that I am afraid to take them.
If neuropathy is the trade-off for living another 20 years, I can handle that!
