Chrisy, I know my infusion nurse asked what I had been doing because she had NEVER ran across this before. So her first thought is to check my blood work. She said as you did...that is usually a sign of low platelets which I was NOT on any other chemo or drugs other then herceptin.

In fact on my LAST full cycle chemo back in June my platelets hit a all time low of 32. So there was an explanation for the bruising at that time.

But this last time I have NO idea why so many bruises? The only thing I did different was get the 3 wk dose of herceptin. I felt fine...didn't notice anything different from my WEEKLY doses expect that one thing? Maybe it was a freak thing. I don't think I was bouncing off the walls and I just did not notice it. LOL

The only thing a TAD low was my RBC...but not enough to make any difference like that.

I was just curious if it was only me...next time I do the 3 wk dose I am going to pay close attention to that just to see if it happens again. Thanks Christy. (Tell your hubby to behave himself...no hitting.) LOL...poor guy!

Possible Sacrum & liver? Now stage IV. 9-28-09 Loading dose of Herceptin & started Zometa 9-29-09 Power Port Placement 10-24-09 Mass 6.4 x 4.7 cm on Rt. femur head. 11-19-09 RT. Femur surgery - Rod placed 12-7-09 Navelbine added to Herceptin/Zometa. 3-23-10 Ten days of rads to RT femur. Completed. 4-05-10 Quit Navelbine--Herceptin/Zometa alone. 5-4-10 Appt. with Dr. Slamon to see what is next? Waiting on FISH results from femur biopsy. Results to FISH was unsuccessful--this happens less then 2% of the time. 7-7-10 Recurrence to RT axilla again. Back to UCLA for options.
