Anyone Stage IV De Novo With 10+ Years NED?

I've been amazingly lucky with my treatment response and have been NED for over 10 years after being Stage IV de novo with mets to liver and bones.

I had one course of chemo with Herceptin and...

I was already on Herception for Stage IV when I got DCIS. I had a lumpectomy and then a double mastectomy, which my surgeon did not want to perform and tried to talk me out of.

Almost 10 years...

I'm in the same wonderful situation. Have been on Herceptin since January 2007. I think about going off but don't want to risk it. My heart has been holding out so far.

I had pins and needles in my hand due to pinched nerve in my upper spine. It went on for months and did not respond to PT. I went to acupuncture 4 times, and it was gone.

I've been living with Stage IV since diagnosis almost 10 years ago. It is not a death sentence, and new treatments are being developed all the time.

I got 3 or 4 treatments of IV iron when mine was low. It seemed to help, and I don't recall any bad side effects.

I'm 9 1/2 years on Herceptin. I was thinking of going off at 10 but decided not to rock the boat because there's really no data.

Benk: I completely agree with Colleen's "keep moving" advice. Remission from Stage IV is possible. I had Taxotere, Herceptin and Carboplatin in 2007 and have been in remission since completing...
