trigger finger
I'm having a hard time with joint pain and recently developed a "trigger finger" in my right thumb (in addition to mild swelling in middle finger). I'm starting to lose use of the thumb. Had...

You got that one right, Chrisy!
Thanks for the well-placed humor. And just to add to the fun, I am right in the middle of the prep for a colonoscopy. (Got any more bad jokes?)
I don't know how I...

Re: CA27.29 ups & downs
Thanks everyone,
I don't know if it's exactly the same substance as Cosamin DS, but I also highly recommend glucosamine sulfate.
The MRI to my head came back negative. I asked for it because of...

Hi Sassy,
I'm trying to change my signature. I have lost the sense of where that is and how you do it.
Your help is very welcome.

Re: CA27.29 ups & downs
Thanks Ishy. I so appreciate the support. Yes, it was from femara. Very severe pain. Took a month off; switched to Arimidex. Still a little swollen, but tolerable.

Re: CA27.29 ups & downs
My CA27.29 numbers started inching up, right after finishing Herceptin. Had a PET scan in Oct. 2010, but nothing conclusive. The numbers continue to rise, so now I am scheduled this Sat. for a Head...

Re: CA27.29 ups & downs
Thanks for the feedback, Becky. All of my blood test numbers are all over the place too, above and below the norm, but this one , when it exceeds 38, is raising concern. I don't know if there is...

CA27.29 ups & downs

I am wondering what you might think or know of this: I am having follow-up blood tests and physical exams every 3-4 months. For some unknown reason the CA27.29 numbers are going...

Re: I am on the Vaccine in Washington would like to chat with anyone on same vaccine
Thanks Didi & everyone else,
First the good news: It looks like there is NED based on the results of the PET/CT scan. I will take a blood test in 2 months to make sure my numbers hold.
I...

Re: I am on the Vaccine in Washington would like to chat with anyone on same vaccine
Hi Didi,
I have just finished Herceptin and am waiting to discuss the results of a PET/CT scan. Assuming I am OK, I was interested in the vaccine trials. I think that being pro-active is a good...

Re: looking for an article on radiation
Thanks for the help from everylone.
I have started radiation & femara at the same time & continue with Herceptin. There is some idea that there is a synergistic effect.

I am replying to myself. I did find the article. It was the one provided by Rich66. It is not specific to HER2+, but does speak to the resiliency of cancer stem cells.

Interesting. I like the idea of targeted approaches (like Herceptin) rather than "slash & burn" (chemo). Just a practical question: Does anyone know if you have to get to a Mayo Clinic to...
