Re: Anxiously Waiting

If I understand and am not wrong, a clin trial coordinator I know says that a look at data would be potentially in Nov/Dec at the earliest for TDM1... they have to file a BLA first, and that usually...

Re: Denied compassionate use of TDM1

Just FYI... I don't know that Theresa is in compassionate use. Is that what you mean?

I do know that just TDM1 is in compassionate use, but yes you would have to be in the city where it is...

Re: Curious...

So far, I agree with both of y'all. It boils down to targeted and complimentary/integrative. In my humble opinion.

Re: after reading post by Rolepaul on brain mets--repostr 4 those running out of opti

Thanks Lani! I still haven't (and won't) do WBR, we chose 'wack-a-mole' after we did 18 months on Tykerb/Xeloda, with an excellent response to both avenues.

I currently don't show any brain mets,...

Re: Intrathecal (IT) Herceptin (Trastuzumab) for brain mets (Leptomeningeal Metastase

Apparently my post disappeared, but if I am not wrong (and often can be), IT is available anywhere that you have an Onc who does it and insurance covers it. You don't have to find a clinical trial. I...

Re: Intrathecal Herceptin/Topotecan for Leptomeningeal Disease

If I am not misreading this (which I could be...), I believe that intrathecal Herceptin is available at every clinic as an approved treatment, as long as your Onc is doing it and insurance covers it.

Re: Brain MRI

Yes, Rolepaul is right. Good luck Trisha. Eric Winer is a Gold Standard Onc when it comes to brain mets. Possibly also you'll find something from Dr. Neil Love in Florida and Reseach to Practice. He...

Re: Brain MRI

I have NEVER had symptoms or pain. Never. Brain MRIs have helped me diagnose them early and more treatable. I have had more choices re: treatments. Just one girls opinion.

Re: Brain MRI

Always ask for a brain MRI. And if doctor hms and haws, then demand one. Don't wait for the doc to decide you need one, it's often really late in the game. Be your own best advocate!

Re: Brain Mets &%$#$!! :(

Denise... I feel for you. I remember how I felt the moment I first found out.

Don't rush into WBR... with two lesions, it would be too soon. You can take Tykerb/Xeloda and be very closely...

Re: Diastolic Dysfunction, EF

Be sure you talk to your Onc and also a cardiologist. ECHO's are now thought to be superior to Muga's. Everyone is different, so even though you don't think the 'causes' apply to you, they might....

Re: Pertuzumab not avaliable to stage 4 contrary to what you have heard

7 - sorry you had to wait for it so long! (you would have perhaps had a 2 week washout period also, so maybe that's the silver lining). So glad you are finally getting it! (did you apply for it three...

Re: Same vaccine as Lani posted? If not, is anyone getting this?

Thank you!! I guess I don't meet protocol if I ever needed it because my platelets hover around 65,000. And I can't afford travel to Seattle, I don't think... but who knows.

Also, even though...

Re: Does your chemo nurse let you see the bag before she/he hangs it?

Never had to ask... they have ALWAYS checked w/ 1. the pharmacy, 2. each other and 3. w/ me to verify name and birthdate.

If she is on Tykerb, like your signature shows, then there would be a washout period anyway from the Tykerb? Ask your Onc about this while you are waiting for your location to be set up. There may be...

Re: Same vaccine as Lani posted? If not, is anyone getting this?

1. Are these trials for stage IV?
2. Does it cross the BBB?
3. If you have had Herceptin, do you qualify?
