Re: Update On Solitary Brain Met Treatment

I'm very sorry to hear this news. And it must be driving you nuts to have conflicting interpretations.

If we get a vote, I'm for assuming it's bruising, and it will heal, and everything will be OK.

Re: important-- turning her2+ Stage IV into chronic treatable disease

Yeah--we're definitely not there yet.

I don't know if I'm "resistant" to Herceptin, but it's pretty clear I need to have something else with it. My most extensive progression was when I was on...

Re: Radiation, Again

Oh, boy. That sounds daunting. It also sounds pretty hopeful. "Just" some surgery and radiation, to just one of the lesions. Did I understand that right?

I read about kyphoplasty in a book called...

I can't believe you haven't started treatment yet. Holy cow, what's the delay? I concur that it's been "too long."

Re: Change in Pathology

Oh, I'm so sorry. What a tough pill to swallow. I'd be pretty upset if I were you.

On the plus side (pun intended), PR+ gives you another treatment pathway.

Bone mets can be painful and...

Re: MET UP " Die In " this Tuesday , Oct 13 , Wash. DC

Go get 'em! I'm glad there are people with the time and money to do this. Maybe I'll be able to go next year.

Re: breast tumor bigger-brain mets stable

As I understand it, metastases are "daughters" of the original tumor but are not exactly the same, so a drug that "works" on one might not be effective on the other. On the other hand, although a...

Re: Its Back

That sounds really good, Ariana! I'm so glad.

I'm on Abraxane (related to Taxol), Herceptin and Perjeta right now. I don't have a shrinking lymph node to indicate how things are going. I'll have a...

Re: Hello from Colorado

Hi Debbie,

Good to hear from you! Your signature is inspiring--five years NED on just Herceptin is awesome.

I'm someone who needs "Herceptin Plus" something else. Luckily, I have no problem...

Re: The Continuing Saga of Amy's Lungs

Hi Fern!

Great to see you. How are YOU doing?

I expect to have a scan in late October, then I'll know where things stand. I saw a pulmonologist shortly after I got to Denver. My breathing test...

Re: Hello from Colorado

Lizz and Tracy--

I'd love to get together sometime. Right now I still have too much to do and not enough time and energy, but I hope that will change soon.

For what it's worth, I only had a few very subtle changes to my breast prior to being diagnosed, and even though I was metastatic at diagnosis I had NO symptoms or signs of that, not even from blood...

Re: Hello from Colorado

It's exciting to be back. This is my hometown. I was gone seven years, and a whole lot happened in that time.

Of course it's stressful too, but the pros definitely outweigh the cons.

Re: How do you deal with lung mets?

Yanyan,

I can't answer your questions, but I've had lung mets from the beginning. Maybe. I had spots on the first scan. Not much was happening in my lungs until later on.
