Mastectomy post-op?

Hi all~
Had a great check-up with the surgeon (she couldn't feel the lump anymore either!), but I am a little discouraged. She wants to do the mastectomy sooner after the end of chemo than I thought.

My daughter is playing in a National Championship lacrosse tournament out in Denver in July, which I have my heart set on going to (and we have flights booked). She was looking to do the surgery 3 weeks prior to this and immediately after 3 weeks of other travel tournaments we will be attending.

Do you think that 3 weeks out I will be up to traveling? So far, I haven't missed a day of work while on chemo, and was back at work the Monday after my 2 other surgeries (port and sentinel node biopsy).

What kiind of reconstruction are you having? I travelled about 2-3 weeks after my bm x (skin sparing, tissue expanders, no diep) and was fine.

Diep is more complex and requires lots more time to heal

I have only met with the breast surgeon, not the reconstructive surgeon yet. I am under the assumption I will have to have expanders and then implants. I have implants now, so I am fine with that route. The surgeon did mention a "full mastectomy", taking the nipple too, at least for my right side, but that is as far as I got with her. Making appt with reconstructive surgeon in next few weeks.
