Anyone try fat injections

I am looking into getting fat injected into my back where my latissimus muscle was removed. When I sit on firm backed chairs my rib doesn't have any cushion and it is irratating even gives me a rash. My PS said he could inject fat but some of it will break down. Just wondering if it is worth it. I am going to have my scar revised it stretched out after surgery and look yucky to me and it itches when I sit on firm backed chairs.

Since you have discomfort even some fat could cushion the rib. There is some absorbtion, but I thought a AFT for breast reconstruction showed it was less then originally thought.

Well . . . do you have any extra adipose tissue elsewhere that you'd like to have removed? Could be a win-win. Skinny thighs, cushy back!

I am liking what I am hearing if it will help cushion.
On a humorous note, I will happily donate fat to you!!!

Hugs,
Jean

I also thought -- I have a few areas I would happily donate. To make your life more cushy, Suzanne. What are friends for?

Jean as I read your words, they had already formulated in my head. I thought it, then saw it...

When my nails were turning black, lifting and falling off from Taxotere, my dear friend was outraged. After all you've been through!!! If I could, she said, I'd take mine and put them in an envelope and mail them to you. I never go out (she was very sick w/stomach cancer). I don't need them. You take them! Just that you said what she did made me feel so much happier. Love is a beautiful thing.

What I lack in back fat my butt makes up for, but thanks for the donations offers.

Also had lat dorsi, left side. If something hits me in the wrong way it causes tons of phantom itching. This has been going on since 2003, although less extreme than the first year. I have learned to ignore. Ditto for the discomfort of the wrong chair. I use it as an excuse to sit upright and exercise my abs and posture.

I would wonder about going back in to the area to add fat - wouldn't it create more nerve damage, as in every time they cut? It's the nerve damage that is hard to endure. How do they ensure the fat stays in place and wouldn't slide down? Compression wear again?

At least I don't have hanging back fat, that would be worse for me :-) as a dancer, I'd rather have a skinny back than a lumpy one but perhaps the fat injections stay put. Am interested to know what you find out. Good luck!!

I was Googling after SoCalGirl's comments. I think the closest situation I can find is:
autologous fat transfer for brazilian butt lift or for breast reconstruction or enlargement.

Wow! I've never checked out brazilian butt lifts before. There is some serious improvement in the look of some of those tushes. Where do I sign up, lol!

I've been interested in this procedure. It seems the most important criteria for success is the skill of the surgeon. Most clients are happier with a more conservative use of fat transfer. Risks are infections and lumpiness from necrosis. I don't know about nerve damage, but I would expect it would occur especially in large harvest sites.

You can Youtube and see how the fat is injected. I saw a repair on an indentation in a girl's thigh that looked interesting.

I'm interested in hearing all about it if you decide to try it.
