Arimidex Side Effects
 

I started Arimidex one month ago and I'm feeling the effects already! I need this drug...it is working well with Hercpetin. Do you have side effects: fatigue, aches and pains, general malaise?

Karen, I was on Arimidex for 4 years after my first diagnosis. The worst side-effect was the joint/bone pain, which was bearable. Other effects settled after several months.

Karen I'm still taking Arimidex and have been for seven years and the worst I've had is bone stiffness which did get easier over time but this year I've noticed them increasing and it could be that the effects of the drug simply build up in the body over the years and plan to discuss with my Onc. I said on the other thread that for me its been worth any side effect if its kept me NED and helped me avoid a recurrance. A daily supplement of Glucosamine/Chondroitin does help but you need to be taking it about 4-6 weeks to notice a difference, good luck!

I did a stint with all three AIs to gauge side effects and found that for me, Arimidex was the least offensive. I have mentioned this before and know that not many people have tried it, but 40 mg of Lasix actually helped me quite a bit with the joint stiffness. My GP suggested this. A few years ago I posted a study that actually supported the theory as an unexpected discovery in a study for another purpose. I'll try to locate the study and repost it for you.
