Re: Dr. Slamon Podcast
Wow, what an amazing, humbling Man! I wonder why his passion is breast cancer besides the obvious of saving women's lives. Such a common since approach with even the discovery of herceptin.
Thank you for sharing ! |
Re: Dr. Slamon Podcast
great! particularly touching at the very end when he mentioned the most significant moment personally for him was when a group of patients sent him a compilation of their thoughts in being alive thanks to Herceptin after being told they would die soon due to their metatastic HER2 bc. I think we all feel we owe him our lives and our gratitude. Aren't we lucky to have him fighting for us!

Re: Dr. Slamon Podcast
The doctor he mentioned at Rush/Chicago was Melody Cobleigh, my oncologist. I am so lucky to have had an onc that was involved in the Herceptin trials back in 1998. Feeling blessed every day!

Re: Dr. Slamon Podcast
well it was a great idea to send Dr. Slamon the words of thanks and obviously very well received. I know we all would have joined in.

Oh, but even better, he's still working on more Unicorns! I'm sure he'll come up with another elusive, miraculous treatment.
I've seen his name on many Pub Med articles and am confident that he will continue to bless us with effective treatments. |
