New Path results in....
Do I dare say it... Clear Margins!!! Just saw my surgeon and he said the pathology report from my last surgery looked good. They took tissue from various areas around the breast and they were all neg. WOO HOO! I am so excited I'm scared to even say it. :-)
Just the first step in God's great plan for me.Next step is Chemo. Right now he says it looks like I won't need radiation. Surgeon wants me to have tests of the breast in a few months to make sure there are no other calcification that were missed just in case. But over all he is happy with how things are going. Is it me or do these docs never want to really get excited about anything. Don't get me wrong he was very happy to say they were cleared but he always sticks the "right now" into his sentences. Is this common? Now to see my Oncologist next week to work up a treatment plan. Anyway! Super excited and wanted to share with my new family of friends. :-) |

Well, right now, I just want to say how happy I am for you.
I think your doctor is being extremely cautious, which is a good trait in a doctor. Yeah, clean margins, super excited too!!! |

Wonderful news, onward and upward!!!:)

Re: New Path results in....
Congratulations! Glad you have a doctor who's cautious. My surgery in 2003 also had a clear margin, but I ended up finding a recurrence 4 years later (would have found it sooner if the film was read correctly. I had to ask the original surgeon to order one before the 4th anniversary because I was feeling ill - ended up losing my job, failed to get certified, ... etc.)
But I got the attention of the surgeon and she realized the so-called 'scar tissue' was actually tumor growth. Your doctor sounds like a cautious one as he had checked several different areas to be sure. I've been NED for six years since the stage IIB diagnosis in summer, 2007. |
Re: New Path results in....
Great news! Go celebrate and leave the worrying to your doc who is paid to do just that: worry, so he keeps you safe.
