Hi!
Thanks for posting. Yes, we've been having some discussion on this topic these last weeks. Looks promising indeed! Phase I trial up and coming!

I'd like to ask you about the Metformin trial. Did you have to monitor your blood sugar while on it? If so, how often? Was it high to begin with? And what was the purpose of the trial? Did you experience a drop in blood sugar levels?

Thanks,
Karen

Re: The Holy Grail of Cancer Drugs?

Hi Karen,

My blood sugar level was at 107 when I got diagnosed. I remember because the MRI tech said it out loud and told me that it was still in the normal range and therefore I could get my MRI. But to me it sounded high. My last blood work showed my glucose level at 81. So the Metformin is working for me.
I do not have to monitor my blood every day. I go in for blood work for the trial every 6 months. My Onc has me get blood work every 3 months and I always ask for copies to I can see where my numbers are. I did get a test kit for home use but I still haven't gotten the courage to prick myself. I hate needles.
