update on Hema
Hema had her Chest XRay and abdomen ultra sound on the 1st.Noth seem to indicate normal /stable status . The ultra sound narration says bladder distented/
x Ray says sceloretic lesions. The small lumps continue to be there in the breast with pain coming and passing. Today the Onc has added Navelbine to be given along with Herceptin on the 7th.She is tired. I hope once the Herceptin is stopped she will get back her energy. All the best to all of you sisters |
Re: update on Hema
I wish Hema the best. Hoping the Navelbine will return her to good health. Perhaps some small walks will help return her energy?

Re: update on Hema

I hope Navelbine is Hema's magic bullet. Sending warm, healing thoughts across the world to you! Denise |

Re: update on Hema
Cancer therapy can be exhausting and reduce stamina. I agree about getting a little exercise. A short 15 minute walk at her own pace in the open air might help. A short afternoon nap helps sometimes too. Perhaps the doctor should check her hemaglobin and B12 levels.
It is easy to become tired if those are below normal. All the best to Hema. |
Re: update on Hema
PBK, Thank you for updating us on Hema. I'm sorry to hear her recent diagnostics were not as well as we hoped. Is Hema eating well and drinking lots of water? It's so important for all of us to eat many small, fresh, healthy meals and snacks as often as possible. And just as the others have said before me, walking and any activity is helpful. I know the less I do, the less I feel like doing, and the less energy I have. Please encourage her to eat and move around every day. So happy she has you by her side.
Please know that you and Hema remain in my thoughts and prayers. I hope Navelbine will offer improvement for dear Hema! Sending Hugs for Hema, Joanne |
Re: update on Hema
Thanks all . I forgot to say that she is like a child when it comes to eating She has to persuaded to take her food. She takes an hour for what is usually taken in 10 mts . At the least pretext she will refuse to eat. I am tempting her with a lot of (my limited) options . Even taking a few pieces of fruit is a time consuming process .I make her take lots of liquids. Thanks for your support

Re: update on Hema
Thank you for updating us on Hema. I, too, admire the wonderful care you are giving her. Is there a way for you to get more calories into the liquids she is taking, since she is not eating as well as before? I don't know what products you have available to you....Many prayers that her appetite and energy return soon.

Re: update on Hema
Try to provide 'Ensure' or make it from powdered 'Carnatian' brand to supplement her nutrition.
Starches can be digested by mouth water. So perhaps some very well cooked plain noodle soup or rice soup... Mashed potato/Sweet potato are also easy to digest and sweet potato contains a lot of fiber... |
Re: update on Hema
I give her Ensure.I have also whey protein powder. But she hates the flavor of the whey protein/ She yakes handpound brown rice and red rice for lunch.I give her stems broccoli bok-choy and red cabbages .Some days I give hera salad of lettuce colured bell pepper and olive and spring onions. These given on alternate days are in addition to what we have normally for lunch. Thanks

PBK, I thought you might consider a juicer/smoothie maker for Hema.
I highly recommend one for everyone who wants to eat healthier. Here's my post about it and I also added some video links: http://her2support.org/vbulletin/sho...487#post288487 Hugs, Joanne |
