UPenn's Basser Research Center

I have an appointment today with my oncologist, hopefully to get some answers on my "stable" disease. While my husband and I are in Philly, we're going to check out the grand opening of the research center, which is "focused solely on the prevention and treatment of cancers that are associated with heritable BRCA mutations". It was established thanks to a $25 million gift from alumni Mindy and Jon Gray. My oncologist was named executive director. We'll also have my teenage daughter with us. She actually wants to try to get into UPenn (she says she wants to be a pediatric oncologist) so we'll take her around campus a bit.

Should be an interesting day!

Penny, the Basser Research Center is going to change the face of BRCA cancers! I hope to meet you at the FORCE conference in Philly in '14.
Warmly,
Marcia
