20% is actually better than the 50% I'd read back in 2003. When I cited the number while discussing having a mastectomy instead of lumpectomy with my surgeon, she said that the result (survival rate) of a lumpectomy + radiation = mastectomy. The only problem is that the statement doesn't really apply to a lot of the Her2 cases.

It's really not that big a deal - except my recurrence didn't get caught until almost 4 years later ...
