Home at Last!!
Hi All!
I'm home! (My outpatient procedure turned into a 3 day stay!) Good pain meds! Awesome husband and kids! Dogs who missed me...A LOT! I was blessed to have the cutest, friendliest elderly roommate during my hospital stay. Once the pain meds kicked in...it was like having a 2 day slumber party with an old friend. She sort of reminded me of my mom a little bit! Most, no, make that all but one, medical professional were professional and compassionate. Delightful! Clearly they love what they do! I've already sent notes of commendation to their supervisors. The exception,Nurse Ratchet... her supervisor will be receiving a letter of extreme dissatisfaction...as soon as I can type a little better. (You all will get the sarcastic, slightly hyberbolic version of my dissatisfaction as soon as I'm not so loopy (from narcotics) all the time.) In all seriousness...I feel compelled to report her...for fear someone's elderly relative will be subjected to her "ministrations" if her superiors don't intervene. She was a mean person, and a bully. I gave her the benefit of the doubt at first...then she crossed the line...well...let's just say...the only thing I like less than mean people, is bullies. She met her match my friends. The letter will be very detailed, and somewhat forceful, I imagine. Anyway...I'm home...on my own couch...watching my own TV...and drinking anything I want, any time I want...and no one's measuring the "output"! It's good to be me! Please remember to keep those prayers and good wishes flowing for a beautiful recovery...with full range of motion, and minimal scarring. Thanks for checking in to see how I am! Denise |

Re: Home at Last!!
I am glad you are home at last. Enjoy the TLC from husband, kids and dog.
Every hospital has one "medical personnel" who shouldn't be there, but I am glad the rest of the medical staff was excellent. Take good care of yourself and gets lots of rest, good food and as much as you want to drink. I have my fingers crossed that you will be feeling fine and back to normal soon. |
Re: Home at Last!!
Yay Denise is home and as snarky as ever!!

Re: Home at Last!!
yay for pain meds...
hope your recovery is speedy and complete. Can't wait to hear your story about nurse ratchet. Reminds me of when my outpatient biopsy turned into an overnight in the hospital surgical floor. They were ALL Nurse Ratchets. I think they were ticked off that I turned out not to need emergency surgery after all. |
Re: Home at Last!!
Wishing you full and speedy recovery!
hugs, shobha |
Re: Home at Last!!

Glad you are finally home where you can truly relax and rest. Sending you well wishes for a speedy recovery. Tracy |
Re: Home at Last!!
Looking forward to the next chapter! Know it will be entertaining!
Keep the faith. |
Re: Home at Last!!
Glad you are home and on the road to recovery. As a past hospital director I can guarentee that they probably know how bad your nurse Ratchet is, but need those letters to help in getting her fired. I also know how great it feels to get the good letters to those who have provided great care. We all should be that proactive to our health care providers, there are so many good ones out there. Hope you heal fast and remember, scars are just tatoos with a better story.

Re: Home at Last!!
You have me grinning as always. Tears from Emelie's post and chuckles from yours. Our world is a mad, mad place...
I will lift you up for a swift recovery. Glad you are home with your pooches! |
Re: Home at Last!!
Yay, Denise! I can't wait to hear what's coming Ratchett's way! She hurt my friend and I'm pissed! If I were there, I would have been videotaping. How dare she?
Well, honestly, I am glad that it was pleasant for the most part. And for you, Denise, I really wish I could grant wishes...I'd give you all you want! Love Karen |

Re: Home at Last!!
Denise...glad to see you are home after such an ordeal....hope you are healed and pain free in no time. As far as nurse ratchet....unfortunately there are some people who shouldn't be nurses...some are in it for the money and to just have a job. Most are in it because they truly care about others and want to help....sorry you had the bad egg....to me being a nurse has always been about helping and healing....
But the important part is you are on the mend and home!!!!!! |
