Lani....it isn't radiation recall dermatitis

Guess I was hoping that at least I would have an answer....the radiation oncologist said the area involved was outside the radiation field and is concurrent with mets...hoping the Taxotere kicks in soon as it seems the tumors are not responding...#3 treatment next week...wish I could get some Pertuzamab to boost the effect!

Sheila
Have your doctor order it (Perjeta).

Perjeta/Pertuzumab just got approved as a first-line treatment for metastatic BC. Does that mean doctors can now order it off-label (subject to insurance issues) in other settings?

Dear Sheila, I was hoping so much that Taxotere would work since Taxol worked for you a long time. Let's hope that the third treatment will be more positive and at least keep you stable until you can find another solution.
It makes me mad they excluded already treated patients from the Pertuzumab release. Now you have to go into a fight again. But you know how to do it! You got Tykerb. You got in a TDM1 trial. Start asking for it.
There must be a solution with Genentech. After all they do give Pertuzumab in the Taxol+Pertuzumab+TDM1 trial to already treated patients.
I am thinking of you. Hugs. Michka

Sheila,

Try to go for the pertuzumab. And I hope that won't turn into another, take the Tykerb and flush the Xeloda down the toilet, saga, or something like that.

I hope you can get Pertuzamab with TDM1 or chemo (Taxol ??)or Pertuzamab and Herceptin.
Also you and your doctor might want to consider some other Tykerb and chemo combo besides Tykerb and Xeloda. Tykerb can be used with almost any chemo that can be used with Herceptin. Tykerb/Taxol or Abraxane, Tykerb/ Navelbine, Tykerb/Iexmpra etc.
Sometimes the Tykerb and chemo combos work better than Herceptin and chemo combos work, because the synergy between Tykerb and different chemos is different than the synergy between Herceptin and chemos.
All the best Sheila. I have my fingers crossed for you.

I am sorry. It was a nice hopeful idea, though!

Hi Sheila,
No great wisdom to add (big surprise)...but I wanted to remind you that I'm sending prayers and warm thoughts to you. I wish I could give you a hug in person. You're always so strong and supportive for all of us...I'm sending some of that energy back to you!

My gut tells me your silver bullet is just around the next bend. Stay strong! Be good to yourself!

Much love,
Denise
