Cancer Treatment Information on the Web

Of course we all rely on the Internet--this is an online support group, after all. Here's an article (with links to some related articles) about how to evaluate what you find online: http://www.curetoday.com/index.cfm/f...rticle_id/1863

That is always a timely subject. Thanks. I was just at a lecture by an oncologist who said only use websites that end in "org" or "gov" and a third suffix which I have forgotten! And to always check the info with your doctor.

.edu

Anything with that appended is affiliated with an educational institution.

Unfortunately,".org" can be misleading, because unlike ".gov" and ".edu" domains, ".org" can be purchased just like the other commercial domains. I owned one. Anyone can.

And a valuable source of information like the 'Curetoday' website is using the commercial domain '.com'.

I enjoy reading the printed copy while curling in the couch or lying in bed. It's such a high quality publication!

For those with iPads I found a few (free!) apps from reputable groups like the Mayo clinic and the Dana Farber org. I just downloaded them today but haven't had a chance to explore. I have the Cure magazine app and find it very relevant and current. And if anyone watched Dr Oz today he did a segment on foods that fight cancer, also very interesting.
