Sleeve to wear during surgery?
I know I have seen this sleeve here and would like to order one. Can someone please help me find that post? I've tried. I would like to purchase one for surgery in May. I have been poked several times in the wrong arm.
Thank you! |

Re: Sleeve to wear during surgery?
That's a very good idea.
I have a compression sleeve (and glove) because of cellulitis. I did not wear it while undergoing the hysterectomy/oophorectomy. About 8 hours after the surgery, when I was put in a separate room, there was a young woman attempting to put the blood pressure cuf on my right (bad)arm. It was a scary experience! And I chewed her out!. Never in my life had I been so 'rude'! It's especially hard as I did know it's going to hurt her feelings. But I 'yelled' anyway! |
Re: Sleeve to wear during surgery?
Last time I had surgery the doc let me wear my medicalert bracelet in recovery room. We had signs posted over my bed and on my chart. But I woke up all drowsy to find an IV in the wrong arm!!! They must have had to move the bracelet to stick me!
The sleeve is a great idea. Keep the faith. |
Re: Sleeve to wear during surgery?
Thank you so much Sheila! Sorry I forgot it was you! You are always here when I need you. You are appreciated!
Bonnie I to have been poked in the bad arm! I had a poke mark in my shoulder when I woke from surgery and the Dr. said that it was common practice to staple the curtain to your shoulder to keep it from the incision! A nurse did it before he was in the room. Also several times I woke with a blood pressure cuff on the bad arm that I also had the bracelet on! I hope they say I can wear the sleeve, I plan to keep it sealed so they know it is clean. Sheila, did your sister or anyone else have any problem wearing the sleeve? Thanks again, Your friend, Nancy |
Re: Sleeve to wear during surgery?
Nancy, the hospital my sister went to furnished her the sleeves, as she is a bilateral with lymph nodes removed on both sides. I too have the wrist bracelets, and they are often overlooked!
