In case you didn't see this. This huge. It validates an entire approach that everyone dismissesd. Several gene biotech companies have been chasing this same technique.
The pharmaceuticals wouldn't fund it (sound like Dr Slamon's story???) but now they are very interested!!!

It sounds great and I hope it yields results that are beyond their wildest expectations! (however, the cautious optimist in me believes that 3 patients does not validate an approach. The ensuing trials will be needed to do that.)

Thanks for posting. I think Brenda is right hopefully clinical trials will prove the effectiveness of this approach with a number of different cancers.
Interestingly patients who achieve spontaneous remission of their cancer often have a bacterial infection prior to remission. I am told that the theory is that it kick starts the immune system and revs it up to the point that it kills both bacteria and cancer cells.
I believe that finding a way of unmasking the cancer cells so the immune system can do it's job has got to be the way forward!
Fingers crossed for early trials.
