Ridges in head

Hi everyone,

I know that you guys are the best and won't pass judgment on me for asking this, so here it goes...

I was laying on the couch with my kids last night and when I touched my head to adjust my hair I felt a valley near the hair line continuing to the top of my head. It's a weird discontinuity that I feel when say running my fingers on my head from one side to another. All of a sudden there's a dip or ondulation. I don't feel anything soft or moving like a lump, it just feels like this is the shape that my head has taken. I hadn't noticed it before, hence my question.

Any clue on what this could be? My anatomy? Anything else?

My apologies on what appears to be nothing (but as we know any little thing is now cause for concern - at least for the worry freak that I am!)

Thanks!!!

Is there a cyst? If not, here's the best 'don't worry' answer I found on the web:

For me it tends to correlate with whatever surface I have recently beat my head against. Wall..desk etc. What's your preference?

Rich, you made me laugh! Where's the other guy that always makes us laugh? Have you heard from him?

Bejuice, check out the pictures in the link below and see if the lines correspond to the ridges you felt:

That link is soooo cool! And thanks for the laugh, Rich! You put a big smile on my face! :)

Maybe it's my brain shrinking with age, lol!

No, you are not imagining things!

I think we have bone loss in our skull just as in our other bones. And it is easier to feel.

I noticed the same thing especially when I lost my hair the second time. My skull was not as smooth. And when I had a bald head it got washed more often. So easy to have no hair to deal with!

Not only do we have the normal ridges where the parts of our skulls come together, but some other spots become more noticeable.

And not necessarily from beating our collective heads against brick walls ...
