wondering about how drs decide how many rads you recieve. I recieved 30.
Can any of you smart wonderful women who are way more informed than I, explain reason behind # of rads?

I believe the current standard of care is a total of 50gy (gray units) over apx 25 fractions. Fractions are the number of visits. So it's possible that instead of 2gy on each visit, your radiation onc gave you about 1.7gy per visit to get you to the total of 50gy over a 30 day period. Does that make any sense at all? Hope so. |
