Liver mets - bilirubin 18

Hi everyone,
My sister has extensive liver mets. Has anyones' bilirubin count been up to 18? Her doctor gave her Herceptin with Xeloda (1,000/day) for a week, but her condition got worse. He took her off Xeloda for a week and now wants her to start up again at least 500/day. She's very jaundiced and has ascitis. Has anyone had a similar situation and had success with Xeloda + Herceptin combo? We are terrified, she is very young.

Thank you.

Hi,

I'm sorry your sister is experiencing 'bumps' in her treatment. There are several members who have successfully treated their liver mets. You can locate past postings on the subjects (eg. 'liver mets')using the 'Search' fuction.

Tell your sister we are all in this with her. My best to you and your family. (Have you all also checked the 'Young survivors coalition' website?)
