Stanislaw Burzynski (Further Information)

Well, I am excited. After seeing coverage on Dr. Stanislaw Burzynski, I am delving further into research of him. Please visit:

Has anyone seen this movie? This story is so compelling, from fighting Big Brother's relationship with big pharmaceutical companies on...follow me on my journey with this...if you find more information (good or bad!) please forward. I'm not easily taken, but I feel a ray of sun.

Re: Stanislaw Burzynski (Further Information)

Hi Karen,
I first began reading about cancer online years ago when older family members were diagnosed, and I came upon the Dr. Burzynski's name way back then. I was reading a usegroup where a fairly local oncologist posted, and he called into question the validity of Dr. Burzynski's claims. Since I hadn't read anything about him in recent years, I googled "quackwatch" and found a cancer patient section there. When I saw a heading regarding questionable treatments, I zeroed in on Dr. Burzynski's name again. I didn't take the time to read the article I found, but thought you should know that there are folks who believe that his claims aren't supported by research. It would be wonderful to find someone with a treatment that offers additonal hope, but I'm very skeptical and would be very cautious. The very fact that years have passed since I first saw this name, and nothing "huge" has happened in the interim makes me additionally leery.

Re: Stanislaw Burzynski (Further Information)

Hi, Barb
Thanks for writing. That is specifically why I like it in black and white. I'd like to see numbers: how many patients thrived, at what stage they were...and could we have a look at their medical records? For the many who've been helped, how many didn't have that luck?
I do believe there's something to his treatment, though. I have this theory that for as many people doing wrong, there those doing right, and are on a mission. I'll refrain from my spirituality here : )
I remember when a friend of mine was in the hospital in 2000, dying of lung cancer. The hospital director and I formed a relationship over the six weeks he had in the hospital and she said to me, "Karen, there will never be a total cure for cancer, the money (making) is too big." And, having worked in corporate so long, I knew exactly what she was talking about. Over time, though, I know there are too many of us seeking a cure: patients, doctors, researchers, donators, chemists to be denied and now believe there is just as much money in a cure as there is in treatment. I will "suss" this man out, through and through. I'm a Big Detective, and am hunting information such as yours.
I will continue to wish, believe, entertain the idea his treatment offers some hope.
