Decadron and hip pain

My daughter is having hip pain in both hips and has been taking decadron (dexamethazone) since June. Is now down to about 1 mg. a day. Has anyone else experienced this type of pain who is on decadron? Please let me know. My best to all of you!

Hi Joyce! I'm sorry to hear of your daughter's hip pain. Is she taking any other meds for pain? Again, I'm sorry, but I haven't kept up with recent posts, so I don't know her history, so I'm hoping that one of the little angels here on this wonderful site will chime in with some helpful advice. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your daughter.

Joyce, I don't really have anything helpful to tell you but I see that no one else is able to come up with anything either, and I want to tell you that we're not ignoring you, we just don't have any answers.

I would guess that if your daughter has been on decadron since June, there's a lot more going on for her than just decadron? Maybe if you tell us more, we can help with similar experience or knowledge.

I was told that a side effect of Decadron is joint pain, like in the hips, and was told to take a Claritin a day. For some odd reason studies have shown that to help. Usually you take the Claritin for about 5 days.
