question about glutamine powder

I am on taxotere, and have been having neuropathy on my face and neck ( yes, rare side effect of taxotere)

I have been taking 4 grams of glutamine powder daily. I met with the nutritionist on the onc's office, who gave me printouts on all of my supplements, and I was reading that for neuropathy, people were taking as high as 10 grams three times a day.

Just wondering what dose people are/were taking for neuropathy.

thanks,

Laurie

Re: question about glutamine powder

Hi Lauriesh, I have had two taxotere infusions and have nerve problems now with my feet. The nutritionist recommended 30 grams of glutamine starting the day of chemo and continuing for 4 more days. This was approved by the chemotherapy nurse as well.

While on taxol, I too took glutamine powder. I was told to take in starting 3 days before infusion, the day of infusion and the day after. It was 30 grams (10 grams three times a day).
