Ixempra Tips
 

Hi All - I wanted to start a thread about Ixempra and any tips anyone might have to make it easier to handle. I know JMP / Jessica has written about it but I can't find much more. I am on day 8 of my 3 week cycle. My doctor will not consider a weekly dosing schedule at this time.

So far pre-meds are pepcid, aloxi, and a 3.5 hour dose of Ixempra. Day two is fine and then day 3 I got IV liquids and more Aloxi and Neupogen. Then day 3 - 5 really bad bone pain with oxycodone for bone pain and more IV liquids. I sleep almost all of the time with almost no appetite. Any words of wisdom or something more I could be doing?

Carolyn - I am so sorry this ixempra is so difficult. I don't have any suggestions or knowledge. I might be looking at having to try it myself - I see the doc next Thurs. to decide next tx. I know JML Jessica had a really hard time on it too. Hopefully she will have some tips for you - and be able to tell you how long the se last after each infusion. I wish you were having better reaction to this - you are in my thoughts. Pam
