Anyone with Rhodiola experience?

Hi

While waiting for any treatment from my doctors I've been looking for something useful to do myself.

Found Rhodiola Rosea benefits are great. Hope to have it instead of antidepressants I've been having for months (and dreamed to drop as I know it may affect BC treatment). Also apparently it may help with my liver mets. So I'd like to give it a try and actually just started it.

I would appriciate any information about the dose and length of time anyone used Rhodiola.

Peace and Love

Galina

Galina,

I've located Rhodiola Rosea on Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhodiola_rosea, but could not find it on MedlinePlus http://medlineplus.gov/. My guess is that there's not solid data and research on this ingredient yet.

We have several members who have got their [liver] mets under control. You probably will find some good treatment information by searching under 'liver mets' or 'bone mets'. Check out the 'long-time survivors' and 'long-term survivors' threads also.

Many new treatment methods are listed in the 'Clinical trials'. We've been told that T-DM1 is very likely to be approved by January. Hang in there and keep us posted.

Thank you for trying to help me. But I have enough information about RR from Google and this website. Just been hoping to hear from somebody who DID used it at some stage.

Jackie, I'm sorry, but I can't take your advice about finding a common treatment for liver mets as my onc simply wouldn't listen to me. And he thinks trials are not for me too. He's a professor, the head of a very busy BC department in a big hospital and apparently doesn't believe I'm able to say something useful about my treatment. Sad but I can do nothing about it.

Thank you again for your kind replys and concern.

Peace and Love

Galina,

My guess is that your doctor is giving you a Herceptin holiday. I'll bet that he's also waiting for the T-DM1 approval in January.

Try to relax and focus on healing. Keep yourself in good physical shape (with strong heart) to get ready for your winning battle.

I'm sending good vibes your way.
