Last chemo ideas
As a followup to my own journey, I have been sharing my lunch hour with an acquaintance who will be finishing up chemo in a few weeks. I can't believe the facility she visits doesn't have a bell! What would I have done if I didn't have that little bell to ring when I was done?!
I'm trying to get a few of her coworkers together to be there the last time she walks through that door. If they don't have a bell, I want to bring her one. This is too important not to celebrate.. Does anyone have any other ideas on what I/we can surprise her with to make this day special? It's silly that I have to ask since I've been there, but more chemo heads are better than one, right? Thanks for sharing your ideas. |
Re: Last chemo ideas
The Dr. office I go to does a great job when "graduating" from chemo.
The nurses print a diploma and blow up a bunch a balloons with colorful ribbon. Initially, I thought it was kind of silly but in retrospect creating a defined "moment" helped me close the door on that phase of my life. It would have been weird to have quietly exited the building after the level of emotion involved with the nurses and fellow patients. |
