Brains and Beans

Hi Ladies: Jumping in with an update. My "brains" be good from my MRI scan on Monday, Woot! Woot!

My liver be bad, Boo! Gemzar not doing it and now I'm on the the Navy beans (Navelbine). Here's hoping it kills those three pesky stubborn spots that we have been trying to squash for the last 14 months. Even tried for RFA, Cryoablation and the Nano Knife. No go, too close to portal vein and bile ducts. Cyberknife, too much tumor volume. So, even though in control everywhere else, chemo is my only shot right now.

Hope to keep my hairs, enjoy spring and summer and get just one NED scan while in this war!! That's not too much to hope for, is it? I need to see if Martini's are okay on Navelbine, I hope so.

Wishing you all well and reading your posts everyday!

With sisterly love,
Darlene

Well, it's good your ned in the head. Now on to the liver mets. Hope the navelbine kicks them back and you're ned from head to toe. I know it has been a good drug for others.

DD, Your news sounds very good all in all. I wish you luck on navelbene...I had it with good results. Of course, it is no picnic, but I found it pretty "easy " to endure. I could still teach while on it and handle those crazy middle schoolers! Ceesun

Denise,
Contratulations on being ned in the head - and no, it's not to much to ask/hope for total nedlessness (or would it be nedfulness?) Either way, I know many folks have had success with navelbine in blasting liver mets - I assume you are still in combination with an anti-her2 agent as well...there can still be synergy.

As for the martinis...not so sure about that:)

maybe once in a while for medicinal purposes...

Good luck with the navybeans!

Chrisy, maybe it's just nedness.

DD ... I'm sure I read somewhere that martinis and navybeans
are synergistic as long as they are chocolate martinis ... I
heard this somewhere ...

Hey Darlene,

Great to hear that the brain is good! Go Girl!

Praying that the Navelbine will zap those liver mets and keep them under control.

Darlene Girl!
Now that your brain is good, it's time for that ol' navy bean to "fix" your liver! I'm sure pulling for it to work, and fast! My hair did good with navy bean and so did I. I'm prayin' it kicks the cooty out of those mets. Much love, ma

Aaah! Thanks to all of you nice ladies, now I have a warm heart to go with my good brain!

For the record, I will be getting vitamin H with my Navy Beans, didn't want Chrissy to be concerned about that. I will never leave Herceptin!!!

I am down with the Pink Lady, I like her medical advice. See how concerned she is about antioxidants, only suggesting the chocolate martinis!! What a pal!!

Stay tuned for my next thread...Liver and Beans! I hope it will be a good one and soon!

Thanks for the cyberfriendship, wisdom and support!!

xoxoxo Darlene
