Words about Cancer are Inadequate
I don't know if you have seen this or not (hopefully someone did not already post it) but this was an interesting article on cancer in general...and how it is difficult to use words to describe the journey... I think it is by someone who has had prostrate cancer. I expecially liked: "As a patient, it’s hard to articulate how being seriously ill feels. In a profound way, we are boiled down to our essential animal selves. We crave survival."
The entire article: http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/0...re-inadequate/ If you can't see it, let me know and I will see if I can cut and paste. Melanie PS: His regular articles: http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/tag/jennings/ |
