GOOD news from "Schoolteacher" Amelia
 

Had a phone call from Amelia this morning. She does not have a computer this week, but wanted you all to know that her LUNG BIOPSY was BENIGN.

The result seems to be that the spot in her lung is an inflammed nodule and it was the same size as on the December scan.

What caused the spike in her HER2 serum is still a mystery, but they will run it again soon and hope to see the number continue dropping.

Hooray and congratulations for that one!

I do not know about the HER2 serum markers, but inflammation can cause an increase in the other markers.

He wants me to come off Herceptin now. I am not sure about doing this since I was stage IV from the start.
