without chemo at MD Anderson.
Neoadjuvant Herceptin for Ductal Carcinoma In Situ of the Breast The goal of this clinical research study is to find out if a single dose of the drug Herceptin (trastuzumab) given before surgery can kill cancer cells or slow the growth of cancer cells in women who have DCIS. http://utm-ext01a.mdacc.tmc.edu/dept...ndex/2004-0701 jean . . |

"The goal of this clinical research study is to find out if a single dose of the

Re: Trial information on herception prior to surgery
Exciting isn't it? Maybe we can kill the monster in the very earliest of stages...I think that is where the direction is heading. Maybe our future will hold for women not to advance further, with having their yearly mammorgams catching the DCIS and stomping out the Her2..very interesting trial.

Re: Trial information on herception prior to surgery
I had read about another trial (on clinicaltials.gov) on giving one dosage of herceptin before surgery for IDC with estrogen receptors negative, to see if the herceptin caused the receptors to become positive. All very interesting stuff!
