Herceptin resistant
I have had 4 reoccurences of metastatic breast cancer in my lungs within the last 4 years despite being on Herceptin almost 4 years straight. I did about 8 months of Tykerb and Xeloda in the middle of the 4 years of Herceptin.
I am looking for a good next step. I am looking for a clinical trial in the Ohio area. I want a drug that will be effective and not interrupt my quality of life. Does anyone have any advice? I have refused to have a 4th lung surgery. |

Re: Herceptin resistant
I'm sorta in your shoes, if you see my signature. I have heard great things about Avastin and Ixempra. The trick is getting insurance to approve the two together since they like all 3 taxanes to be used first.

http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/sh...ow_locs=Y#locn (in Illinois?) RAD001 = Everolimus - you can search those separately and also look for solid tumors (not just breast cancer) |
Re: Herceptin resistant
Focus of T-DM1 trials is to overcome poor response to or acquired resistance to herceptin in her2+ patients.
Here's link to couple of trial possibilities: T-DM1 & Pertuzumab trial In Columbus, Ohio http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT00943670?term=t-dm1&rank=2 T-DM1 combo trial conducted in neighboring states. http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT00928330?term=t-dm1&rank=7 further away, but another promising combo trial http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT00951665?term=t-dm1&rank=6 one more in Indiana http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT00875979?term=t-dm1&rank=5 |
