Hives from chemo - Can you help?

Hello,

I have a dear friend that reacted to chemo with hives. The theory is that it is either the taxane or the neulasta that caused this. They have been unabating except when on the steroids. She is miserable...and tho she has finished the chemo many weeks agao the hives keep coming back unless she takes more steroids. She has been referred to an allergist by her oncologist.

Please let me know if you have any advice!

Thanks,

Terri

You or your friend can look up the taxane she takes on the internet to see if hives are a possible side effect.
For example: www.taxotere.com.
Cancer Care (www.cancercare.com or 1-800-813-4673) has some excellent booklets about managing skin conditions and chemotherapy.
