Scared
Last night I had some dull pain in my right breast (the opposite of where the cancer was). I came home and started "feeling" that breast. Low and behold I found a fairly large lump. I am so incredibly scared. I am 3 years and almost 10 months out from diagnosis. I haven't been able to stop crying. I am hoping to get into my dr. today ...

Re: Scared
In there with you sis. Hang in there. I know it's scary. Call the doc first thing and see if they can work you in. If it was here it wouldn't necessarily have to be the onc. Could be the family doctor or OBGYN to check what needed to be done (i.e. Ultrasound, scan etc). I'd check with either to see if they could see me.

This may not be what you fear, and if it is (worse case!) you'll handle it I know as you did before. I really hope you can get to see your Dr asap to help allay your anxiety and sending you good thoughts for negative results! |

Re: Scared
Yes once we have been dx with bc...it's funny how happy we can get over all kinds of weird things. Fatty tissue being one of them. lol Anyway...congrats on the good news. Isn't it nice to be able to breath again.

Re: Scared
Oh Lisa, I'm so glad you got good news! A couple of months ago, during a routine visit with my breast Dr. she poked and pressed more than usual and then ordered an ultrasound. Scared me senseless for about a half hour until I found out that all was well and she thought she had been feeling bone she hadn't been able to feel before! (I had lost over 30 lbs.) It's been almost twenty six years since my mastectomy and all the same mind numbing fear came rushing back for those thirty minutes! We'll take fatty tissue or bone anyday, huh? I hope you did something celebratory!

Re: Scared
Thank you Lord!
Pop a cork Lisa :-). Reason to celebrate! |
Re: Scared
Lisa,
What a relief. It reminds me of the focal fatty tissue in my liver. It presented as a nodule on CT scan, but an MRI determined it was a benign fatty nodule. If I hadn't had the bc first, I would have been fretting about why I had focal fatty tissue in the liver. But I was so relieved it wasn't cancer, I thought, Who cares. Joan |
