New Lump
Hi Everyone
I had a mastectomy six years ago and then six months of chemo. Missed out on herceptin (long story) but have been well since then. I was 39 at the time of diagnosis. HER2 positiive ER and PR -ve. I now have two small lumps in my other breast. Seeing Doctor on Friday and will obviosly have a mammogram. Has anyone else heard of a new primary so long after the first. Is it likely. Thanks Janet |
Re: New Lump
Hi Janet,
I am so sorry you are facing this new scare! Yes it happens, sometimes, but there's also a good chance that this could be benign. Ask the doc to do an Ultrasound or even an MRI, and if they think it's iffy, have them do a biopsy. My rads onc said: when in doubt, take it out. So I had the lumps removed. One of them turned out to be cancerous after all. I'm glad I had the surgery! Hang in there! Love Jacqueline |
