Femara and high Cholesterol

Hello
I have been taking Femara for about a year. I had my cholesterol checked and my good cholesterol is great but the bad HDL and LDL are too high. Has anyone else had this problem. I would like to know if anyone has tried different foods to help or if I need to take a prescription medication??
THANKS
Bonnie

Re: Femara and high Cholesterol

Bonnie,

I think it is fairly common for diseases of aging such as high blood pressure and elevated cholesterol to be associated with AI's. I am beginning Femara and have also incorporated Red Rice Yeast, a supplement, into my regimen to hopefully keep my cholesterol in check. I'd rather not take a statin. I think these meds seem to begot one thing after another, a declining domino effect. I wonder if after five years of this stuff whether we go back to normal or remain on the other meds indefinitely. Guess we'll find out!

I will be interested in seeing what others post.
