Hi Andi
Thanks for the post.
I believe that my bc was 'activated' by a severe stress reaction to some serious events in my life approx 6-12 months before it appeared, over which I had no control. This I think caused some bio-chemical changes which I believe altered my bodies ability to get rid of these rogue cancer cells.
Though this won't hold true for every case of bc.However I have noticed that a high proportion of women I have met in hospital and at the oncologists clinic can relate a traumatic event prior to their own bc. These events seem to generate feelings of being overwhelmed and a sense of despair.
I guess we are in our infancy regarding this research as the human body is such a complex system!

Andi,
I haven't had time to read your latest posts, but I do agree - it's not psycho babble. There's so much we are just learning and so much we will never be able to understand because its beyond our comprehension. But that doesn't mean it's not real and not true!

Thanks my dear for posting!

I took a class PNI when studying psychology in college. Very interesting and lots more research has come out on it since ... and I'm sure there will be much more to learn in the years to come. It's exciting stuff I think.

Andi, I took a psychoneuroimmunology class at a dental convention one yr. It was so interesting! I am a firm believer that the mind can have a significant effect on the immune system.

I am a willing student of mind-body connection, as you and I have shared Andi... I haven't checked out the links, but I will.

I am a bit more skeptical of the stress-reaction cause, though.

Thanks for sharing!
