update on hives herceptin

I had my 3rd herceptin treatment on Friday. The hives I had on my lower back really flared after the benadryl wore off. The PA at hem/onc made an excellent suggestion-she said to see a dermatologist. I went this am and my dermatologist said that I had an over active immune system, a form of eczema that is common in people with allergies and asthma-I have both. He prescribed a steroid gel and said they should be gone by Thursday. Of course I never had this before herceptin treatment!
I have noticed an increase in all my allergy symptoms since I started herceptin. Maybe it makes an overactive immune system even more over active!
The good news is that they do not stop herceptin for rashes!

It would be great if your overactive immune system synergizes with Herceptin. I smell a study;)

Trust me....overactive immune systems are not fun! It is rather interesting when you look at the comments on the boards about herceptin - you see alot of nasal and eye and symptoms as complaints. I really think herceptin is the culprit! I don't think many people are allergic to herceptin but I do think it increases your reaction to harmless things-which is allergies! The treatments people use like eye drops, zyrtec and steroid sprays seem to ease their symptoms.
Do you do studies? Or do you just read them!

Just hoping your sensitivity works in your favor.
Don't do studies, just scour for them.
