TDM1 trials opening up!!!!!
 

I had treatment today and saw my oncologist. I told him that some members here are upset that there are currently no trials for members who are heavily treated.
In the next few weeks TDM1 trials are opening up at the Dana Farber in Boston and will include patients who have had many prior drugs.

Barbara - Thank you for this hopeful news. I'm having pet/ct July 21 & see the onc. July 23. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to switch chemos then if my rising tumor marker is any indication. The t-dm1 trial has not been a match for me before... maybe this time! Pam

I spoke with my former onc last week--the one who is a progressive thinker. He is working with the t-dm1 trial and some others. His comment to me was that there are things in trials now that will "blow Herceptin out of the water!"

This sounds like good news for all of us.

well, if they are going to blow herceptin out of the water, bring 'em on!

Great to have some positive news when at present so many of our members are really struggling.
My onc here in England is very conservative about new treatments and I often come out feeling that we are not getting anywhere with bc. However on Wednesday she did concede that some of the vaccine,chemo and immunotherapy trial could prove promising!!
