Want opinions on breast surgery

I'm 5 1/2 years out with stage 3b her2 pos ER/PR neg cancer. I had a lumpectomy with 35 nodes removed. I've lost some weight now i am noticing i'm getting lopsided. When I was heavier it wasn't as noticeable. I'm thinking of my options....I know there might be a surgery where they take out fat from your stomach and put it in the breast, or implant? I guess i want everyone's opinions. Or do i just get a prosthesis for my bra? (that would be the easiest wouldn't it?!)

Hey Michelle!
We're not known for easy, you know!
Good luck on choosing!

Michele - sorry if I'm out-of-the-loop here - did you already have mastectomy with reconstruction - and if so, what kind?

This has to be a personal decision...you can get a filler prosthesis for lumpectomy patients, it is like a shell that goes over the breast and evens things out...i had receonstruction and still ended up needing one due to scarring and contraction. Again, a very personal decision...don't think I would take the chance on stirring anything up for a little symmetry...I am still convinced that mine became active again due to reconstruction...a risk I wouldn't take again.

Kathy,
I had only lumpectomy , well 2 lumpectomies one right after another because one was bx and the other lumpectomy with the axillary dissection.
Sheila, what is a filler prosthesis? Is that a surgery? I didn't know if you were talking filler for a bra or a surgery.
Does anyone know of a website I can go to get something that i can put in my bra?

You can find other sites by doing a google search for "lumpectomy forms".

Hope this helps.

Mine is made by Amoena...and called a Symmetry balance form...

Symmetry Shapers
Achieving breast symmetry following breast conserving surgery or reconstruction may not always be possible. However, symmetrical breasts are extremely important for a woman’s self-image and peace of mind. The Amoena Balance line of symmetry shapers was designed to provide optimal breast symmetry and balance in a variety of shapes, sizes and thickness, so that every woman can feel self-assured in her clothing choices and every day situations.
